It's now the #1 selling pint-sized ice cream in America and I'm not the least bit surprised. In a world where we're all becoming more health conscious, their product is both low in calories and high in PROTEIN. After trying it for the first time last night, I would highly recommend it.

The ice cream is Halo Top, and it's made in California. Last year, sales of their 17 flavors increased 2500 percent to a total of 17 million pints! I tried 'Peanut Butter Cup' last night, and it was heavenly.

There are three things about Halo Top that are unique:

  1. The calorie count. Each pint has between 240 and 360 calories... for the entire pint.
  2. Each one packs 20 grams of protein.
  3. It features all-natural ingredients, the first "healthy" ice cream to do so, according to Chowhound.

Halo Top's website has a comparison of their product to Haagen Dazs, Ben & Jerry's, and Dreyer's Slow Churned. Halo Top has one-third the carbs of the Dreyer's, and less than one-fourth of the other two competitors. The ice cream is also low in fat, compared to its competition with most having only two grams of fat per serving (1/2 cup).

Yes, it's a little pricey but if you doubt its popularity, just look at the freezer last night and all the empty slots:

If you already love Halo Top, there's some great news for you. Founder and Ceo Justin Woolverton told Chowhound,

Our promise to our fans is to maintain the quality they expect from Halo Top and, of course, to bring them some exciting new things in the near future.

If you haven't tried it before, you won't have trouble finding Halo Top. It's available at Hy-Vee, Fareway, Target, New Pioneer Co-op, and Walmart. Enter your zip code HERE to find the location nearest you and enjoy! We purchased our pint at Hy-Vee and they gave us a 2-dollar coupon for our next purchase. Believe me, there WILL be another purchase.
