Everybody that knows me knows how much I adore "squishy face" dogs. Don't get me wrong, I love all dogs, but there's something about those short lil snouts that I just can't resist! In fact, my dog Charles has one; he's a Boston Terrier/Pug mix. A newly formed Iowa animal rescue that focuses on those types of dogs, also known as brachycephalic dogs, is trying to spread the word about their new organization, and they're doing it in an adorable way.

Lucky Bulldogs Rescue is a 501(c)(3) (filed, pending approval) non-profit formed by five volunteers. One of those volunteers is Lyndsey Wright. She reached out to me to tell me a little bit about the organization:

"Our mission is to rescue as many brachycephalic (short snout) dogs as we can from the commercial breeding system, rehabilitate them, and adopt them our to loving forever homes so they can experience the spoiled pet life after spending their first years being bred. We focus on English Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, and other snort nosed breeds. All dogs are fostered in the homes of volunteers who work hard to gain the dogs' trust and teach them that positive human interaction is possible, while also maintaining medical care and sometimes dealing with dogs with special needs."

Since Lucky Bulldogs Rescue is so new, one of the board members came up with a fun idea to spread the word and raise money for the organization. With Lyndsey's help, the 'Dad Bods & Rescue Dogs' calendar was born!

The 2020 calendar features all sorts of fun and hilarious photos involving rescue dogs and shirtless dads. For example...
