Blairs Ferry Road Nightclub Closes Due To Violence
A club that just opened recently in Cedar Rapids, has, apparently, quickly closed due to weekend fighting.
1140 Blairs Ferry Road NE is listed as the address of "Club Mingle", which has housed various establishments over the years including North Country Steakhouse and a 2nd location for the Chrome Horse Saloon.
A Facebook post on the Club Mingle page, says it is not re-opening after this weekend's violence. Authorities say they responded early Sunday morning to "shots fired" but there were no victims found and no more information available.
This club looks to have opened sometime just before Memorial Day, and part of the description on the Facebook page read: "unlike any other music and sports venue within Cedar Rapids. Our space is a self-standing building with its own parking lot. We will have an indoor and outdoor stage for live performance and DJ's and a large VIP room. On the weekends we will "TURN UP" to Hip-Hop and R&B music from 9 pm - 5 am while taking full advantage of Bring Your Own Bottle. Tickets will be sold in advance during the week (Higher Cover will be charged at the door)."
Call the Cedar Rapids Police Department at 286-5491 with any information.
