The FBI has taken over the investigation after a incident that they say was an assassination attempt on the life of former President Donald Trump.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department (CRPD) says that a Friday night shooting was targeted at one of their officers.

The incident happened on Sunday morning.

Officials are confirming a shots fired incident with no injuries reported near Kirkwood.

The incident happened Saturday night around 10 p.m.

No injuries to report.

The accused gunman, who was allegedly in the passenger seat, and the woman charged with being the driver, have both been arrested.

The incident happened Wednesday night on 6th Avenue SW.
