The 2020 Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is one of seemingly hundreds of events around eastern Iowa this year that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In all honesty, the number may be in the thousands, not hundreds. As the festival prepares for its 38th year in 2021, they asking for the public's input to make it even better in the future.

The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival has a lot of great, family events. My favorites have to be the Balloon Glow, Freedom Festival Parade, Dock Dogs, and, of course, the Celebration of Freedom Fireworks. There are plenty of others to choose from, though.

After 37 years, the festival could rest on the tried-and-true successes of the past as they look toward the future, but nope. They want to improve upon an already great series of events.

In a Tuesday morning release, Freedom Festival Executive Director Carissa Johnson said,

Every organization has used this time to pivot and reinvent who they are and what their future looks like, and we are no different. Our community’s voice and opinion’s matter to us and this survey will help mold what the Freedom Festival will look like next year and for years to come.

The festival has posted a survey on their website that will take you just a few minutes to complete. It asks you about everything from the price of buttons to festival guides and your recommendations for events. You can fill it out HERE. The survey will be available through Tuesday, September 1.

Let your voice be heard and help the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival be even better.
