Cedar Rapids Natives Qualifying Tonight For Sunday’s Daytona 500
A pair of Cedar Rapids natives who got their start in racing right here in eastern Iowa, will be racing under the lights at Daytona tonight. Landon Cassill and Joey Gase are both running in the first Can-Am Dual 150 tonight.
Cassill is behind the wheel of the #34 Loves Ford for the 2017 season. Landon will be starting from the 14th position in the 75 lap race.
Gase has a part-time ride in the #23 Best Home Furnishings Toyota for the Daytona 500 and other selected races throughout the season. Joey will start in the 20th position.
Because of NASCAR's Charter Team finishes from the 2016 season, both cars will be in Sunday's Daytona 500. Tonight's race determines where everyone will actually start the race at on Sunday.
Tonight's racing action begins at 6 p.m. on FS1.
Sunday's Daytona 500 will be broadcast on Fox.
Good luck, guys!
