Clean Bandit + Demi Lovato Turn Prigs Into Pets in ‘Solo’ Video
Men are dogs — eventually (and literally) — in the new video for Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato's summer smash collaboration "Solo."
Released Thursday (May 31), the video finds a man acting violently and critically toward his girlfriend. So, to get revenge, a chain of women consult a collection of scientists, who help craft a pill for the perfect revenge.
Finally, after receiving the finished project, the ridiculed heroine sprinkles her man's food with the crumbled pill, and he turns into a rainbow-tinged dog. Even better: he's just the right size to tug the woman along as she cruises down street sides on her skateboard.
All the while, Lovato mourns the loss of a relationship from the comfort of a couch, and croons about her consequent restlessness.
"I wanna f-woop woop woop, but I'm broken hearted / Cr-cr-cry but I like to party / T-t-touch but I got nobody / Here on my own," the pop star laments amid a mix of synth and Vocoder effects.
And fans are already into the new visuals. "Dear Clean Bandit, where can i get a Rainbow Dog? Or Can i get a potion to make my cat a rainbow cat please?" one wrote in the YouTube comments section while another noted "Trust Clean Bandit to make literally the most creative and unique music video ever! Also Demi's vocals slayed this song."
