I'm so ready for a little weekend getaway!

Back in 2016, I took a trip to Nashville for the very first time. We spent four days in the city to celebrate my 25th birthday and had a BLAST. I was supposed to head back for another trip in April of 2020, but the pandemic had other plans. Three years later, I'm happy to report that I'm going back to Music City, and this time I'll be celebrating somebody else's 25th birthday!

This Thursday, a couple of friends and I are taking a road trip to Nashville, and we'll be staying very close to Broadway. Only about a ten minute walk! A lot has changed since I was last in the city, so I'm hoping to get some recommendations from listeners. As of right now, I know we'll be headed to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum again, as well as some of the classic bars like Tootsies. We also plan to take a tour of The Ryman and Grand Ole Opry, which I didn't get to do the first time (we opted for the Johnny Cash Museum instead). I will definitely be visiting Lucky Bastard Saloon, since a friend of mine from high school plays in a band there on weekends, we want to hit up the famous Bluebird Cafe, and I HAVE to stop at the two-story Taco Bell (I don't care how silly that sounds). But other than that, we have four nights to fill!

If you have a favorite bar or restaurant in Nashville, I would LOVE to hear about it... especially restaurants! Please shoot me a message or post a comment with your recommendations!

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
