An Eastern Iowa man has been arrested in Southwest Wisconsin, for hiding illegal drugs, under the hood of his car.


At about 1:30pm on January 19th, the Prairie du Chien Police K-9 unit was used to help search for drugs, when police found the car parked on the 100 block of North Marquette Road.

K-9 Rico indicated there was some type of narcotics stashed in the air filter, in the engine compartment. Officers found 118.9 grams of the substance. The crystal-like material then field tested positive for Methamphetamine.

The occupant of the vehicle, 27 year old Taylor Chessel of Springville, Iowa, was taken into custody on a charge of Possession with Intent to Deliver over 50 grams of Methamphetamine.

Chessel was held in the Crawford County, Wisconsin jail until his next court appearance.

The Clayton County Sheriff assisted Prairie du Chien Police, as well as the Crawford County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations.
More charges may be filed, and the case remains under investigation.
