Eastern Iowa Nonprofit Has Trailer Stolen [PHOTO]

[UPDATE 2/9/21, 10:10 a.m.]: News about the search for Central Furniture Rescue's missing trailer. A new Facebook post says they are still looking and the insurance company is giving them 15 days before they will replace the trailer. Insurance will not pay the deductible, so in the meantime, they are asking for donations to help with that. See the Facebook post below and find out how to help.

[ORIGINAL STORY]: Another Eastern Iowa nonprofit reports they were a victim of a recent theft.

Our Blue trailer is missing. If anyone sees it the plate number is HU1206 please contact the Cedar Rapids Police Department 319 286 5491.

KCRG says the group Central Furniture Rescue serves thousands of people in our area by delivering donated furniture, so needless to say, their trailer is a big part of their operation.

It's one of two trailers the organization has, a new trailer that had gone missing from their location at 18th Ave. SW.

If anyone sees a trailer that looks similar or has plate numbers “HU1206″ please contact the Cedar Rapids Police Department 319-286-5491. The organization's president and executive director Susan Johnston is overwhelmed with appreciation for the community's support in helping locate the missing trailer, telling KCRG, "every time I see it’s [their Facebook post] been shared again, my heart just explodes and, I’m going to cry again. It shows how much the community supports what we do. I’ve always believed the community wants to help. They just didn’t know how and we became a conduit for it."

The trailer helps double what they can deliver to those in need in the community and they'd appreciate help in finding it.
