Big Change Coming to Iowa Chick-fil-A Restaurants
There are a lot of us who love Chick-fil-A. Sometimes you just find yourself craving one of their sandwiches or nuggets. The sauce... the mmm. For anyone who frequents Chick-fil-A for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there is a pretty major change coming.
Get ready for a change in chicken
There is a change coming to Iowa Chick-fil-A restaurants. And no, this is not the new pizza option one East Coast location is getting.
Most of us who love chicken or eggs are used to marketing terms about how the animal was raised. Cage-free. is a popular one. No antibiotics are common. That's actually where the change in practices is coming.
The company is shifting from its existing policy of "No Antibiotics Ever" (NAE) to a new policy of "No Antibiotics Important To Human Medicine" (NAIHM). While it may seem like a lot of medical talk, the change in their antibiotics policy is more understandable when broken down by Chick-fil-A on their website where they say they will not use,
...antibiotics that are important to human medicine and commonly used to treat people.
Chick-fil-A says this will allow,
...use of animal antibiotics only if the animal and those around it were to become sick.
Chick-fil-A says the change is in accordance with its Animal Wellbeing Standards. With this new policy, the hope is to keep ill animals alive longer without using medicine that would or could interfere with human health, because they will avoid medications used by humans.
As for a taste change, don't expect your favorite menu items to taste any different.
