Eastern Iowa Police Officer Airlifted After Morning Crash

A Monticello police officer went for a very scary ride this morning. According to The Monticello Express Facebook page, the officer was responding to a call early this morning when he hit a deer. The officer's vehicle then rolled multiple times, before finally coming to rest in the ditch near Welter Storage on Business Highway 151.

He was transported, via ambulance, to Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa before being taken by helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Thankfully, his injuries are NOT believed to be life-threatening. His name and condition have not been released.
