In case you didn't know, March 2nd is a big day for libraries and schools all over the country - it's Read Across America Day. Why March 2nd, you ask? Because it's Dr. Seuss’s birthday, of course!

As far as children's authors go, there is no bigger name than Dr. Seuss. His work has been loved by audiences of all ages for decades. He wrote over 40 books in the span of his career, and you probably know most of them. His very first published children's book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, came out in 1937. His final book was Oh, the Places You’ll Go, released in 1991.

Read Across America Day was always a fun day when I was in elementary school because we got to eat green eggs and ham and read Dr. Seuss books all day. Some of my favorites include The Lorax and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
