Family Entertainment Venue Coming to Cedar Rapids
Nothing fun for families to do in Cedar Rapids?
Enter "Spare Time Entertainment", a new venue the Corridor Business Journal (CBJ) says is coming to the old Gordmans location in Northeast Cedar Rapids.
If you're looking for a date night, a family outing, or a private group gathering, "Spare Time" says they will be able to accommodate anything. This place sounds incredible. Bowling, laser tag, arcade games, and more are coming to 4601 First Ave. SE. Also: "multiple" bars and restaurants! Renovation is already underway.
Spare Time is a Vermont-based company and will obviously be hiring for the new location in Cedar Rapids. Learn more here.
There's no indication of when the place will open, just that "Games, Lanes, Food and Fun" will be here sometime this Fall.
Check out a couple of examples of what the place might end up looking like.
I could hang out there all day (if I didn't have to work).
Will this be something to fit the bill of what Cedar Rapids residents have been longing for in the way of "family entertainment"? Spare Time Entertainment seems to have a very "Dave & Buster's" feel which is always a popular response when asked about places that would be on the list.
I'll leave you with what the folks at Spare Time Entertainment themselves say about their venue from their own website:
At Spare Time Cedar Rapids, you can eat, bowl, and play arcade games, laser tag, and more — it’s the most fun you can find under one roof. We can’t wait to start creating memorable experiences!
