Fareway announced on Wednesday that they will be handing out free face masks to customers after a large donation of masks was made by the Iowa's Governor's Office and the Iowa Department of Public Health.

In a press release on Wednesday, officials from Fareway announced that he Iowa Governor’s Office and the Iowa Department of Public Health has donated more than 35,000 masks. This donation was made on May 22nd, and this is for Fareway to distribute the masks to their customers.

Fareway President and CEO Reynolds W. Cramer said, “we appreciate the generous donation, and partnership with Governor Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Public Health.” Governor Kim Reynolds said,  “I want to thank Fareway for their assistance in helping distribute masks and for their ongoing efforts to promote public health in Iowa"

According to the press release, the masks were provided by HanesBrands, Inc. to the State of Iowa. The masks will be in all 108 Iowa Fareway store locations beginning Wednesday, May 27th. The masks will be provided to customers on a first-come, first-served basis, and until the masks supply is exhausted.

Hy-Vee began giving away free masks yesterday at all of its stores in Iowa. They are the same masks that were donated to Fareway.

Below is a map of all Fareway locations in the Quad Cities, on the Iowa side, that will be handing out masks beginning on Wednesday, May 27th.
