According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, "Firefighters are still trying to determine what caused a fire at an Iowa City apartment building Thursday evening."

The fire happened an apartment complex located at 433 South Johnson Street. According to the Iowa City Fire Department, the report was of a fire in the attic. The Gazette story noted that most of the occupants had vacated the building before firefighters arrived on the scene.

Firefighters did keep the fire contained and it was out within 50 minutes. No injuries were reported but there was significant damage done to the building.
