Isaiah Brown is one of the best defenders in recent memory to come through the UNI men's basketball program.

In 2019-2020 -- Brown's final season donning a Panther uniform -- he won the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the MVC All-Defensive team. He earned a spot on the all-defensive team as a junior as well.

During Brown's senior year with the Panthers, he also averaged 9.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and a steal while starting all 31 games.

His athleticism, versatility defensively, and experience in Cedar Falls provided the avenue to pursue a career playing basketball professionally.

Over the last two seasons in the professional ranks, the 6'7 forward has suited up for the Santa Cruz Warriors and the Texas Legends of the NBA G-League. Last season for the Legends, he averaged 6.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 steals over 34 games.

As announced by USA Basketball on Monday, he's getting an opportunity to showcase his skills to the rest of the world now, too. He, along with six other hoopers will represent the United States in the 2022 FIBA Men’s World Tour at select 3-on-3 events in FIBA circuits throughout the summer and into the fall.

Per the site, this is "the first time assembling a FIBA 3x3 Men's World Tour team. The teams were selected by the USA Basketball 3x3 National Team Selection Committee. ... The athletes selected all recently competed at the Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals, where they played with USA Basketball select teams to make their 3x3 debuts."

Brown's teammates will be Austin Butler, Hassani Gravett, Khalil Iverson, Rodney Pryor, Keaton Wallace, and Jared Wilson-Frame.
