Say goodbye to some of your favorite restaurants at NewBo City Market! According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, four vendors have closed up shop.

Let's start with One More Bite. The popular sandwich shop announced on Facebook that their lease ended in April and they are going to be focusing their attention on other aspects of their business. The post reads:

"Our lease ended April 1, and we have decided to honor the 2-year business incubation model Newbo suggests and not renew. We will however be focusing our resources in these changing times to One More Bite Food Truck and Catering services."

City Melt, a restaurant that specializes in grilled cheese, also decided not to renew their lease at NewBo. The post from their official Facebook page says:

"All of us at CityMelt would like to thank our loyal and grilled cheese-loving customers we have served over the last five years. Our lease was up this month and we made the difficult decision not to renew at this time."

Get Fresh is the third shop to close its doors. The juice and smoothie vendor opened at NewBo back in 2012, but they have been forced to close because of the coronavirus pandemic. Part of the Facebook post reads:

"In the past 7 1/2 years we have weathered one change in ownership, two flood preparations, many community projects, and many more political events but, the recent hit to small businesses due to COVID-19 is something we can not weather. Get Fresh at NewBo City Market will not be reopening. The economic impact of this crisis has forced us to close our door overnight, pivot, and adapt."

They hope to return to Cedar Rapids in the future, but in the meantime, you can visit their Iowa City location.

The Gazette reports that Paulita's Pastries, an authentic Mexican pastry shop, is also closed. Paulita's just opened at NewBo back in July of 2019.

We wish all of these businesses the best of luck on their future endeavors and we can't wait to see what NewBo City Market has in store!
