Four People Shot, Two Of Them Downtown, In Three Cedar Rapids Shootings
It's been a violent weekend in Cedar Rapids with three separate shootings.
Cedar Rapids Police were called to the first shooting at 11:40 Saturday morning to a mobile home at 53 Dartmouth Ave. S.W. When they arrived, officers found one person had been shot. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The second shooting was in downtown Cedar Rapids. Police responded to the call in the 300 block of 2nd Ave. S.E. at 12:16 Sunday morning. According to a media release, officers investigated and found evidence of a shooting in the alley. Police also got information that two people had been injured, neither of which was still at the scene. One was taken to St. Luke's Hospital and the other to Mercy Hospital, both in personal vehicles. Their injuries are also believed to be non-life-threatening.
The third shooting happened later Sunday morning. KWWL reports Cedar Rapids Police were called to Woody's Show Club (9395 6th St. S.W.) at about 2:30 Sunday morning. Police say one person was injured, with non-life-threatening injuries.
None of the people injured in the three shootings have been identified. Cedar Rapids Police say all three incidents are active and ongoing investigations.
