Free Drive-Thru Breakfast For Veterans & Active Duty Military on Veterans Day
A Veterans Day tradition will look a bit different at Hy-Vee stores this year, but veterans will still be able to get a free breakfast to start their day.
On Wednesday, November 11, Veterans Day, Hy-Vee will be providing a free breakfast to veterans, as well as active-duty military members. This year's event will be a contactless drive-thru breakfast. That simply means that veterans and active-duty military personnel will be able to pick up a pre-packaged meal in the individual Hy-Vee store's parking lot.
Hy-Vee says they expect to give away more than 90,000 free meals to veterans and active-duty military members on Veterans Day. Over 250 Hy-Vee stores across Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin will be giving away the free breakfasts, while supplies last. Most locations serve the free breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., but please check with your nearest Hy-Vee for specifics.

Veterans will also save 10 percent on their groceries when they purchase them at Hy-Vee on Veterans Day. And finally, through November 15, Hy-Vee will be asking customers if they'd like to round up their purchase to the next dollar. The money raised goes to Hy-Vee Homefront Round Up which helps provide money in support of veterans as well as active-duty military members and their families.
