Iowa might just want to avoid playing basketball in the state of Indiana. A week after getting pummeled at Purdue, the Hawkeyes ran into a hot-shooting Hoosier team at Assembly Hall Thursday night. Iowa fell 89-77 to Indiana.

The road this year in the Big Ten is treacherous. The Hawkeyes fall to 1-6 on the road in conference play this season. Want more bad news? Starting guard, freshman C.J. Fredrick left the game last night with a sprained ankle. He never returned. Iowa doesn't have long to regroup at they hit the road Sunday to play at Minnesota. Iowa's lone road win is against last-place Northwestern. The Hawkeyes are giving up over 90 points per game on the road. The defense has to improve.

Lost in all this is another great game by center Luka Garza. He was all Iowa had Thursday night. Garza put in 38 points for his fifth game above 30 points this season. He is simply a wonder to watch.

The Hawkeyes will likely have to win at Minnesota without Fredrick. They will get Cordell Pemsl back from his one-game suspension.
