Get In The Spirit At Big Eastern Iowa Christmas Tree Lighting
We're inching closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas and the Quad Cities is getting in the spirit.
It's a festive time of the year in the QC. Next Saturday (November 18th) in downtown Davenport, the Festival of Trees Holiday Parade will take over the streets in the morning as the largest helium balloon parade in the Midwest. Later that same day, you can still get in the spirit without going very far with the Christmas Tree Lighting at K-Square!
Downtown Davenport Partnership, City of Davenport and Quad City Arts are keeping the party going on Saturday with the lighting of this gorgeous big Christmas tree at 6:00 p.m.
It's a free, family-friendly event that will be at K-Square (which is at 119 E. 3rd Street). This marks the 3rd year of the K-Square Christmas tree lighting. There will be carolers at the tree lighting too. Besides the parade and the tree lighting, November 18th also kicks off the Festival of Trees in downtown Davenport.
Kyle Carter, Executive Director for DDP, said in a release:
There is no better way to usher in the holidays than to join us at K-Square as we light the magnificent tree. Each year, our crowd grows larger, as does the holiday spirit.
Quad City Arts' Festival of Trees lasts through November 26th. You can get more details about Quad City Arts' Festival of Trees and the events it has going on this season on their website. For what you need to know for the Holiday Parade, be sure to scroll through our checklist.
