A ground-breaking ceremony for a brand new McGrath Buick GMC Cadillac dealership was held Monday next to Pat McGrath Chevyland in Cedar Rapids.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by late January, 2020. The new dealership will be a 25,630 square foot, state-of-the-art facility for sales and service.

Local dignitaries including Cedar Rapids Mayor Brad Hart and City Manager Jeffery Pomeranz, along with factory officials attended today’s event, with words from Pat McGrath who says it's a great move for his customer base. “Our loyal GM shoppers will be able to compare the best of Buick, GMC and Cadillac right next door to Chevrolet.”

The new dealership will have 14 Service Bays and a dedicated Parts Department. While the new facility is being built, both sales and service will continue to be available at the current Hiawatha location.

McGrath said the Buick GMC Cadillac move had been in their growth plan for several months, “We had a great run in beautiful Hiawatha, and will continue to have a big presence with our KIA store, the Used Car Campus and moves that are still in the planning.”
