Here’s an Incredible Option for Iowa Teachers Looking for Work
Last week came word that 23 teaching positions in the Cedar Rapids school district were being cut as the district looks to cut the budget. Meanwhile, another state is offering a $6,000 bonus to some teachers. That state is downright dreamy.
If you're a teacher and looking for a move, Hawaii could be your dream job! Hawaii currently has a teacher shortage. What?! Yeah, I know. Hawaii has 1,600 vacancies to fill before the next school year starts this fall. The problem is getting teachers to stay. Now, you would think having a job in paradise would be easy to find teachers... not so.
The average teacher salary in Hawaii is $56,000, and the state is now offering a $6,000 bonus to teachers hired in special education, secondary mathematics, and secondary science.
So, if you're getting cut in the Hawkeye state or are just looking for a change of scenery, visit the Hawaii State Department of Education website for more information.
Remember, there's no snow days in Hawaii.
