The Indian Creek Nature Center's annual Maple Syrup Festival is usually a weekend-long event for families to look forward to. According to Iowa's News Now, like many other events this past year, it has shifted its plans thanks to the pandemic.

The event is only one day this year and will happen this Saturday, March 20, and it of course will be a drive-thru. From 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m you can pick up breakfast for $6, according to Iowa's News Now. Three pancakes, two sausages, and syrup. Jars of Indian Creek's maple syrup will be available, as well as Dan & Debbie's Creamery maple ice cream and Iowa Brewing Company maple beer (for those 21 and older, naturally).

Raffle tickets for a $250 grand prize can be purchased at $5 apiece or 5 for $20. You need not be present to purchase raffle tickets, but if you're drawn, you will need to pick up your prize in person.

You can register to order your breakfast and other items from the Maple Syrup Festival, raffle tickets and get more information at their website.  Friday, March 19 at noon is your last chance to sign up so don't miss your chance to participate in this tradition, that like so many others, hopes to be "back to normal" next year.

The location for the Indian Creek Nature Center is 5300 Otis Rd SE. Another reason they'd love to get back to normal next year is because the to-go containers they must use this year eliminate their goal of making it a no-waste event. Compostable to-go containers and cutlery will be used for the festival, but not all will be fully compostable. The composting facility in Iowa City can handle the compostable items you will be getting with your meal, however, the facility in downtown Cedar Rapids cannot.

Please support them in their 38th year of the festival.
