Iowa Bachelor Chris Soules Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charge Involving Fatal Crash
Former Bachelor Chris Soules, 37, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious injury today according to CBS2/FOX28.
Soules, who is an Iowa native, was involved in a fatal crash near Aurora, Iowa in April of 2017 that left an Iowa farmer dead. According to prosecutors, Soules drove his truck into a tractor driven by 66-year-old Kenneth Mosher causing the tractor to roll into a ditch. Soules did make the original 911 call, but left the scene as first responders arrived. Mosher died as a result of his injuries. Five hours later Soules was found at his home and arrested.
Soules was originally charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, but he now faces a lesser charge. The CBS2/FOX28 report states that with his latest guilty plea Soules could face a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a $6,250 fine, and a minimum penalty of a suspended jail sentence and a $625 fine.
His sentencing will take place on January 8, 2019.
