He's the top boy's basketball prospect in the state of Iowa in the 2020 high school class, so it's not surprising that both Iowa and Iowa State want Xavier Foster on their 2020-21 rosters. They're far from the only ones.

247 Sports has the 7'0" 225-pound Foster as the 29th ranked player in the nation in next year's senior class. He's also ranked the number five power forward nationally.

Foster averaged 14.4 points per game during his just-completed junior season.  He led the 3A state champion Oskaloosa Indians in rebounding with 284 his junior season. Foster also blocked 148 shots. During his sophomore campaign, he averaged 12.7 per game. He had 96 blocked shots that season. Foster averaged 7.5 ppg as a freshman when he blocked 87 shots.

Foster has been offered scholarships by Iowa, Iowa State, UCLA, Kansas, USC, Texas A&M, Creighton, and others.

As I wrote two-and-a-half years ago, both Iowa and Iowa State offered Foster scholarships before he'd even played a high school game. Now, Matthew Bain says Foster will receive an in-home visit from Iowa Tuesday, April 23 and will have a workout visit with Iowa State Sunday, April 28.

Neither Iowa or Iowa State have any commitments from the 2020 class. They'd both love Xavier Foster to be their first.
