Since moving to Iowa a little over three years ago, I have not been on a single date. Don't get me wrong, I've met some nice guys, but nobody that I've really clicked with, you know? As it turns out, I'm not the only single person in Iowa that can't seem to meet the right person. A new study done by WalletHub reveals 2018's best and worst states for singles, and Iowa made the bad half of the list.

The study is based off of "27 key indicators of dating-friendliness." Those indicators include the number of restaurants and movie theaters, the number of single adults, online and mobile dating opportunities, and other dating-related stuff. Iowa came in at #28 on the list, ranking 43rd in the overall category of "dating opportunities," and 23rd in "romance and fun." In "dating economics" we came in 4th, which is really good, but we didn't do so great in some of the sub-categories. Iowa is number 46 for the "lowest share of single adults" and for the "lowest gender balance of singles." There is a bright side, though! We came in 4th for "most movie theaters per capita," and you can enjoy those whether you're single or taken!

The states that are the best for singles are California, Florida, New York, Texas, and Pennsylvania.

And no, I'm NOT blaming Iowa entirely for my singleness. I just also really enjoy being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want.

A happy early Valentine's Day to all my fellow singles out there! Don't miss those 50% off chocolate sales on the 15th :)
