Take that, Hawaii!

Imagine you're planning a summer road trip... what states would you plan to drive through? If you picked North Carolina, Wyoming, Minnesota, Virginia, or Texas, you apparently chose right! According to WalletHub, those are the five best states for summer road trips. The article states:

"WalletHub compared the 50 U.S. states based on 33 key metrics to find the most fun, scenic, and wallet-friendly road-trip destinations."

Some of those key metrics include gas prices, road conditions, camping costs, and the average cost of car repairs.

Iowa didn't do too bad at all, coming in the top half of the list at #20 overall. We came in 5th for 'safety,' 23rd for 'costs,' and 40th for 'activities.' Additionally, we did not do well in the 'percentage of total area designated as national parkland' category, ranking 49th out of all 50 states. Yikes!

The worst states overall are Rhode Island, Delaware, Connecticut, Hawaii, and Arkansas.
