We'll always wait for a day or two to go by and then we don't have to worry about making reservations or being inside a jam-packed restaurant. We've been doing it this way for years and it's helped avoid any pressure of celebrating on February 14th.

On most Valentine's Days, we'll just stay in and watch a movie together. I'm a sucker for a good romantic comedy movie. They're easy to digest, you know how they all end, and you don't exactly have to pay attention to every little detail when watching a rom-com. You can half pay attention and still enjoy the movie. One of my all-time favorites is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

An AI-powered platform released the top romantic comedies from each state and I was curious if you agreed with the selection that was made for Iowa.

Iowa's Favorite Rom-Com?

According to Today, AI from Likewise chose the movie "The Proposal" as Iowa's top romantic comedy movie. The movie stars Sandra Bullock alongside Ryan Reynolds, and was released in 2009. Honestly, there's a good chance that this movie is on TV somewhere right now. It's one of those movies that always seems to be on some channel.

If you've never seen The Proposal, it's your basic run-of-the-mill romantic comedy. It has its fair share of funny moments, and like all rom-com movies, it's pretty easy to watch without using much of your brain.

While this is a perfectly fine movie and it's one you've probably seen before, I'm not sure I agree with Likewise's AI take on this being Iowa's favorite romantic comedy movie.

Do you know who's starred in A LOT of rom-coms? One of Iowa's favorite celebrities is Ashton Kutcher and he's been in a plethora of romantic comedies. Collider has a list of 10 of them, dating back to 2000.

One of my favorite romantic comedy movies, which just so happens to star the Iowa native, is "No Strings Attached." It stars Ashton, alongside Natalie Portman, and in my opinion, is one of the better romantic comedies I've watched. I'm a bit surprised that the AI wouldn't select one of his rom-coms. There's a ton to pick from and at least one of his movies would have some tie to our state. Iowans love telling people which famous people were born here. The Proposal feels like some random choice the AI chose out of a hat.
