Lost Island Waterpark and Themepark have become a big draw to the Cedar Valley for many locals and tourists alike.

The waterpark had already been a popular fixture in Eastern Iowa when construction on the theme park began in 2019. After several years of development, the theme park officially opened in June 2022.

Major Developments in Mid-August

Officials from the Waterloo theme park announced that a new coaster is in the works. The news came out at the American Coaster Enthusiasts Preservation Conference.

Lost Island Themepark will be premiering a new coaster, the Fire Runner in 2025.

A Little Bit About Fire Runner

Fire Runner will be the first new coaster built since the amusement park opened in 2022.

This will also be Lost Island's fourth roller coaster!

The park's latest addition will be a single-rail Raptor model, according to Theme Park Tribune. Fire Runner will also be the first single-rail coaster in the Midwest.

Once you strap into this ride when it opens in 2025, you'll experience a thrilling 52-mile-per-hour ride over 1,950 feet of track, complete with three inversions.

In addition, the coaster will have a custom lead car at the front of the two, twelve car trains, according to reports.
