Eastern Iowa Man Misses $1.03 Billion Powerball Jackpot by One Digit
It seems like people here in Eastern Iowa have some of the best luck when it comes to winning the lottery.
Almost every other week we hear news about one person buying a scratch off ticket that ends up being worth a couple thousand dollars or someone else is close to winning the Powerball.
Just this month we had someone from the Hawkeye State come close to winning the jackpot.
A fireman named Trent Baker won a million dollars.
The Newton resident is one of seven, one-million-dollar winners. Baker ended up matching five of the numbers.
He was one number shy of winning a billion dollars!

Another lucky Iowan won pretty big by playing the Powerball this month.
Waterloo Man Wins Big
Earlier in April, Jacob Nabholz bought his ticket at Kwik Star, 111 East Donald Street in Waterloo.
Nabholz ended up matching four of five white balls and the Powerball in Monday April 1st’s drawing, according to reports.
The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were 19-24-40-42-56 and Powerball 23. The Power Play was 2.
He initially won $50,000, but because he added the $1 Power Play® option, Nabholz took home $100,000.
This Waterloo man was also just one number away from winning that evening’s jackpot of $1.03 billion.
