Jazz Superstar Returning to Iowa

We're aware it's only September.

But for those looking to get an early jump on scheduling their holiday concerts, here's what we've found so far:

• Trans-Siberian Orchestra, November 13 at the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs
• Mannheim Steamroller, November 13 in Mason City.; November 14 at Adler Theater in Davenport; November 19 in Spencer, and  November 20 in Burlington
• Straight No Chaser in Des Moines on November 13 at the Civic Center.

The Nutcracker Ballet takes place at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, December 7 at 2:30, while on Sunday, December 8, local favorite Jim McDonough plays the Paramount at 2:30 p.m.

The annual Holiday Spectacular from Orchestra Iowa returns to the Paramount Theatre on the weekend of December 20-22. It will include a Friday and Saturday night show at 7:30, and one Sunday at 2:30.

But a short trip west might be the highlight of the season, as Kenny G brings the phenomenal "Miracles Holiday & Hits" tour to Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines.

Tickets are available starting at $49 for the show Wednesday, December 18 at 8 p.m.
