It's a road trip series the rest of this week for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, but once they return to Veteran's Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, June 15, the gates will be open to more fans than ever this season. As in, all fans.

It was announced by the Kernels on Monday that for the remaining 42 home games this season, they will welcome the full capacity of fans to the stadium, lifting social distancing requirements.

This means, according to a Kernels press release,  "all group outings, including groups in the stands, will return to normal beginning June 15th.  This also opens up more dates and space in our Plumbers and Pipefitters Pavilion, Miller Mezzanine, Cedar Rapids Area Association of Realtors Grand Slam Suite, and the McGrath Party Plaza!"

According to Iowa's News Now, fans who are not vaccinated should still wear a face-covering to the stadium.

The next home game at Perfect Game Field is Tuesday, June 15 against South Bend with the first pitch at 6:35 p.m. Don't miss Big Screen Thursdays, where every Thursday night, we team with the Kernels and First Federal Credit Union to give away THREE 50-inch big-screen TVs. The next big-screen giveaway is Thursday, June 17. The remaining season schedule can be found here. Can't wait to see you there!
