LEGO is stepping up by creating 13,000 face shields a day for healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to ABC News, the company announced on Instagram on Thursday that they have changed their machines at their factory in Billund, Denmark, to produce Personal Protective Equipment. Lego said they are rolling out 13,000 plastic visors a day for healthcare workers in Denmark.

ABC News also is reporting that LEGO has added approximately 100 employees to be involved in the project. Duties of employees on the project include developing designs, creating molds, and working with suppliers for raw materials.

Niels B Christiansen, CEO of the LEGO Group, also announced that the LEGO Foundation will be donating $50 million to support children most in need. They want to ensure children continue to have access to learning through play which LEGO says helps develop life-long skills.

On top of the $50 million donation, LEGO announced on Tuesday that they will be donating 500,000 LEGO sets to children in need of play.
