Sometimes it's the little things that mean the most.

I came across something really cool happening in downtown Cedar Rapids over the weekend. A local company, Balloons Etc., has been dropping off balloon bouquets at local businesses in the downtown area.

The message is simple: "We're Sending a Little Love your Way!"

I contacted owners Jacob and Kimberly Cowger earlier today. They've been in business here in Cedar Rapids since 2004. Locally owned and operated, Balloons Etc. has been a respected and trusted company in Eastern Iowa for the last 15 years.

Kimberly told me, "We know what it's like to run a small business and there has been a lot of anxiety and stress with everything that's going on. We're hoping to put a smile on people's faces and let them know we're all in this together."

So far, ten businesses in Cedar Rapids have received the balloon bouquet. Kimberly and Jacob have plans to do at least another 65 more. I talked to a local business owner that received one and he said it made his day!

I almost forgot, they have a very hairy employee that drops the bouquets off to the businesses. His name is "Thrilla Da Gorilla," and it sounds like people really love him!

You may have seen him over the years around Halloween standing on First Avenue with a sign in his hands. Don't be scared, he's harmless.

This is our good news story of the day and I really want to thank Jacob and Kimberly for what they are doing. Like I said before, sometimes it's the little things in life that mean the most.

Let's all take a page out of their book and try and Pay it Forward this week.
