
Man Found in Cedar Rapids Street Has Died
A man initially believed to have been involved in a hit and run has died from injuries received in what may have actually been an assault.
Cedar Rapids police originally responded to a report of a man down in the street in the 100 block of 11th Street SW Sunday (July 23) afternoon at 5:07. A previous media release from the police department indicated they originally believed there had been a vehicle-pedestrian accident. Police then pointed out they thought the man was actually the victim of an assault.
Police say the victim, 60-year-old Charles Leroy Flint, died Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
