A man remains hospitalized in stable condition after being stabbed. Marion police and fire officials responded after getting a call of a man being stabbed in the neck.

According to the Marion Police Department, city police, fire, and paramedics were called to the Marion Hotel at 2330 7th Avenue at around 6:51 p.m. After arriving at the scene, first responders discovered an adult male with a stab wound to his neck. He was transported to a local hospital by Area Ambulance. His injuries are not life-threatening and he is listed in stable condition.

A suspect, identified as 42-year-old Taaun Jackson has been charged with Attempted Murder. He was also charged with First Degree Burglary and is being held at the Linn County Jail. Officials are confident that the person in custody is the one responsible for the stabbing.

No other details are currently being released. The investigation into the stabbing continues.
