Michigan Wide Receiver To Transfer To Iowa
247Sports reports that Michigan is losing a top Wide Receiver who is transferring to Iowa.
Iowa City native Oliver Martin leaves the Wolverines and joins the Hawkeyes, but will have to sit out next season before playing. The 6'1", 200-lb. Martin played at Iowa City West where over his career there he caught 156 passes for 2,443 yards and 30 touchdowns. His 239 receptions were a state record, and he set records in Class 4A for career yards (3,449) and TDs (33).
Reports are that Martin initially spurned Iowa in 2017 due to staff coaching transitions from Greg Davis to Brian Ferentz as offensive coordinator, and a change in wide receivers' coaches, but he has decided to come home after all.
Last season at Michigan, Martin caught 11 passes for 125 yards and was poised for more playing time next fall, but wasn't happy and decided to finally make the move.
Michigan's loss is Iowa's gain, and we look forward to seeing an exciting new player on the field at Kinnick, making a difference for his hometown Hawkeyes.
