The Linn County Sheriff's Office says they received a report today of "an adult female that was sexually assaulted near Bertram." According to a release, the woman was driving alone just before 5 this morning at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Road and Bertram Street when she was waved down by someone asking for help. The report states that when she got out of her vehicle, the sexual assault occurred. The vehicle the suspect was driving has been described as an older light brown 4-door sedan. The victim's name will not be released.

CBS 2 reports this is the third assault reported in eastern Iowa this month. The others occurred in Black Hawk County in Cedar Falls and near the town of Dunkerton. Both of those women also reported being assaulted while driving on rural roads or roads on the edge of the city. A fourth woman reported being approached by a man in Tama County.
