I can't believe it, but this season of 'American Idol' is almost over! Last night the final five became the final three, with Wade Cota and Laci Kaye Booth going home. I was sad to see them go, but I wasn't shocked by America's decision. I'm sure they will both go on to do great things.

This week each contestant sang a song chosen by their mentor, an Elton John song, and a song dedicated to their hero, which made for an interesting assortment of music.

I know Laci was cut at the end of last night's episode, but, in my opinion, she had one of the best performances of the night. She sang "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac, one of my favorite songs ever written. The song was a perfect fit for her voice:

My favorite contestant of the week was Alejandro Aranda, though. That guy is a STAR. His natural talent continues to amaze me, especially last night when he sang another one of his original songs. I also really enjoyed his cover of Elton John's "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word":

Laine Hardy has been very consistent in his performances throughout the season, delivering a few more solid ones last night. My favorite from him was "Can't You See" by the Marshall Tucker Band:

And finally, I have to give credit to Madison VanDenburg for her version of "Your Song" by Elton John. She made the song her own AND she hit some killer notes!

Honestly, I'll be happy with whoever wins next week. I think the final three singers are all extremely talented and deserving. I can't complain! Who will you be rooting for next week? Let us know in the comments!
