[PHOTOS] Look Inside Ashton Kutcher’s Childhood Home Near Cedar Rapids

One of the biggest stars to come out of Iowa is Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher has never forgotten his roots and has frequently helped out the Hawkeye State over the years. One person he was probably especially proud to help out, was his own mom.

Kutcher was born in Cedar Rapids in 1978, but after his parent's divorce he ended up moving to Homestead with his mom and stepdad. Homestead has a population of approximately 150 residents. 

Kutcher helped his stepdad Mark build this home when the star was just a teen. Nearly 25 years later, the international superstar wanted to come back to the house he built and see if he can revamp some of this space. The Iowa native partnered with Houzz to get this project off the ground.

Ashton and several other celebrities did a series back in 2015 where they did home renovations with this business for some important people in their lives.

Some of the other A-listers involved in this series include Kristin Bell, Viola Davis, and Kutcher's wife actress Mila Kunis.

Ashton's family's Iowa home is a ranch style house in Homestead. Kutcher's mom and stepdad have been living here since it was built several decades ago. The project that they were all attempting to undertake was a basement makeover.

They were trying to take this man cave and turn it into a space perfect for the whole family. One of the biggest hurdles had to be Kutcher's stepdad Mark. Mark had seven recliners in the small space, AND a whole corner dedicated to fellow Iowa native John Wayne.

He had 312 vhs tapes of the famed actor.

Luckily, the family was able to appease the stepdad, and give Ashton's mom the space she always wanted; including a better guest room for the grandkids and a sophisticated salsa cellar.
