Saturday Morning Confusion In Cedar Rapids

An accident happened in Cedar Rapids Saturday morning at the intersection of First Avenue and Wiley Boulevard SW. As I approached the scene, I noticed the traffic signals were not operating. From every direction, the lights were off. There was a lot of confusion, and vehicles were pulled over to the side of the road.

That's when I looked over and saw one vehicle in somebody's front yard. It looked like the driver even took out a street sign before crashing in some trees. No official word on how this accident happened or who was driving the vehicle.

Police and Fire were quickly on the scene. We'll update this story later today when we receive more details.
