Second RAGBRAI Bicyclist Hit
Another bicyclist on RAGBRAI was hit and police have charged the driver that hit him. The Des Moines Register reports 55-year-old Danny Cardin from Louisiana, was charged with serious injury with a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident after police were called to a campground near Shenandoah late Sunday.
The Iowa State Patrol says Cardin's truck hit a tent dragging 67-year-old James Foley who was inside at the time. Foley was flown to a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Cardin is in the Freemont County Jail Monday.
The accident follows a fatal collision that took the life of a Florida man on day one of RAGBRAI Sunday morning.
