There are a few set staples of any high school movie: the scene where one character tours another character around the cafeteria and shows them who the jocks and the nerds are; the scene where one character has something mortifying happen to them and everyone laughs, preferably in a public space like the classroom or the gym; and, of course, a house party scene. Spider-Man: Homecoming, being a high school movie, obviously has at least the third option.

In the clip above, Peter (Tom Holland) and his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) walk through the doors of a party hosted by someone whose parents apparently have a ton of money. Zendaya’s mystery character is there, mocking them as usual, but Peter and Ned are there for a purpose. Ned has encouraged his best friend to dress up as Spider-Man, crash the cool party, and say that he’s tight with these two high school kids. Foolproof, right?

We don’t see how this plan ends up, but because of the second item on the aforementioned list of things that always happen in high school movies, it’ll probably end up embarrassing at least one of them, if not both. Kids. They never learn.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters July 7.
