UpTown Friday Nights

It's one of the greatest Friday night traditions anywhere, and we're thrilled to be a proud sponsor again this spring and summer. The fun begins May 20 at the McGrath Amphitheatre, on the banks of the Cedar River, in downtown Cedar Rapids.

Summer has flown by insanely quick, although there's no denying it's been fun. Especially on Friday nights if you've been joining us with the Cedar Rapids Jaycees for Uptown Friday Nights at the Amphitheater.  While this season is almost over, we've got some names to look forward to for next year, included last Friday's performer, Alisabeth Von Presley.

Friday night saw another exciting Uptown Friday Nights at the McGrath Amphitheatre with great performances from My Selfish Me and Cheese Pizza. The weather was perfect, adding to the ambiance in the amphitheatre a huge success, as the massive crowd rocked out to the legendary party rockers.

All week last week, there was a forecast for rain on Friday. But for many, when it came to Uptown Friday Nights at the McGrath Amphitheatre, no amount of rain could keep them away from a good time.

Friday night, a near record crowd showed up to kick off summer with the Cedar Rapids Jaycee's Annual Uptown Friday Nights.  By the time attendance was tallied, organizers realized in just over 24 hours, nearly 5000 people had been in attendance at the McGrath Amphitheater having an amazing time.
