Taylor Swift Dances Like Nobody’s Watching in ‘Delicate’ Video
Taylor Swift's making a hard point about fame in her latest video for "Delicate," which dropped Sunday night (March 11) during the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
In the clip, which follows treatments for "Look What You Made Me Do," "...Ready For It?" and "End Game," Swift plays her uber-famous self, who's stifled by bodyguards, crazed fans and constant attention. Suddenly, though, she realizes nobody can see her, and so, she dances like nobody's watching, all the way to the top of a car's hood during a massive rainstorm.
"Dive bar on the East Side, where you at? / Phone lights up my nightstand in the black / Come here, you can meet me in the back," Swift croons as the rain begins to fall, and she takes over the night.
Finally, Swift arrives to a bar, soaking wet, only to realize everybody can see her again. She spots someone in the back and smiles.
And fans quickly left love for "Delicate" in the comments.
"Raw Taylor is better than polished Taylor," one wrote, while another noted "That smile at the beginning/end melted me!"
Swift wound up winning Female Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, but lost out in the Best Fan Army, Best Lyrics and Best Music Video categories (also, her cat Olivia Benson, failed to earn the distinction of Cutest Musician's Pet).
Swift's closing in on the kickoff to her 2018 Reputation World Tour — she'll officially start the concert series on May 19 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
