You'll still stay in your car as you drive through to get your Coronavirus test at a TestIowa site this Winter, it just may at a different location to protect staff from the elements. So says a report from KCCI that 4 of the state's six testing sites are either closing or relocating.

The first of these sites to move is at Merle Hay Mall, one of two sites in Des Moines. It will close Friday, October 23 at 6 p.m. and reopen Monday at 8 a.m. to an indoor facility east of the old Bridgestone Tire store. The remaining open site in Des Moines will shut down permanently, leaving only one location there. As for other sites in Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Waterloo, and Council Bluffs, it has yet to be decided which of them will relocate by November 6, and officials are in the process of securing new locations for them.

The move, according to KCCI, "provides an enclosed structure to protect Test Iowa staff and others from winter weather conditions and still allow individuals to remain in their cars while being tested." Besides noting November 6 as the date the relocations will be finalized,

As a reminder, anyone wanting to be tested at a TestIowa site should visit their website to first take an online assessment. If you qualify for a test, you can then make an appointment.
