Spring is finally here, and the warmer weather means lots of people have started walking and jogging here in Eastern Iowa. But, with more people out on the trails and in outdoor recreation areas, there are some safety concerns that need to be addressed. The Cedar Rapids Police Department will be doing that tonight!

The Cedar Rapids Public Library will be host to 'Running, Jogging and Walking Survival Strategies' with the CRPD tonight in the Whipple Auditorium. According to the Facebook event page:

"Police Investigator Sarah Lacina, who was the winner of CBS Television's Survivor: Game Changers in 2017 and completed seven marathons in seven days on seven continents as part of the World Marathon Challenge in 2018, will help you strengthen your mindset and empower you about personal safety."

The free event will kick off tonight at 6 p.m. at 450 5th Avenue SE in Downtown Cedar Rapids. For more information click HERE.
