The Corn Moon Is Visible Tonight

As we all feel the stress of living here on Earth thanks to 2020, we look to the sky and think about the good old days that now seem so long ago.

If you happen to look up at around 12:00AM Wednesday morning you'll see the beautiful corn moon which technically isn't the harvest moon! It's the moon and it's named after corn so for us here in the Midwest its the perfect space event.

The September moon, known as many different names will be visible early Wednesday morning. It is expected to come up in the ESE sky tonight at 7:45PM, but we will have clouds around then, hopefully they should clear in time for the full viewing overnight.

This moon is also called the harvest moon. It has a rich history in many different cultures.

The term "harvest moon" refers to the full, bright Moon that occurs closest to the start of autumn. The name dates from the time before electricity, when farmers depended on the Moon's light to harvest their crops late into the night.
